Maritime oils and Watercolours

Anthony Osler was born in Ipswich in 1938 and attended Northgate Grammar School, The Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, and Southampton University. He started painting at the age of 29 after accidentally coming across a small book entitled "Starting with Watercolour" by Rowland Hilder. Being passionate about boats and the East Coast in particular, this was the subject matter he chose to pursue. He became a full time painter at the age of 55 and is well known for his atmospheric watercolours and oils.

He has exhibited widely in Gt. Britain, as well as in France and the USA, and has had many one man shows, including one in Paris. In early 2018 he was featured artist at the respected Francis Iles Gallery in Rochester, Kent. In London he is represented by the Alexander Miles Gallery.

Anthony is a member of The Society of East Anglian Watercolourists, a former President and Honorary Member of the Felixstowe Art Group, and an Honorary Member of The East Anglian Group of Marine Artists. He is available for oil or watercolour demonstrations and workshops within a reasonable distance from his home on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, near Diss. Anthony has two daughters and five grandchildren and as often as possible he is out on his yacht "Selene"  gathering reference material and soaking up the inimitable and ever changing East Coast atmosphere.
